Need a Fresh Start?

NEED A FRESH START? Start your day with a focus on antioxidant rich foods.

Sometimes, we don’t know what we are lacking, until we focus on that specific nutrient or those vitamins and minerals; and we can NAME AND NOTICE how much better we feel after a week of eating that food.

Antioxidants can be found in locally sourced, quality complex carbohydrates.

Antioxidants are a vital part of optimal health and are found in quality foods that offer vitamins, minerals AND complex nutrients- all in one food.

Here are some foods that are high in antioxidants:

  • Blueberries

    • Blueberries have one of the highest antioxidant levels of all common fruits and vegetables.

  • Dark Chocolate

    • Dark chocolate contains many antioxidant compounds, including polyphenols, flavanols, and catechins. The higher the percentage of cocoa, the better. Above 60% is great!

  • Spinach

    • Dark leafy vegetables like spinach and swiss chard are naturally rich in antioxidants, as well as vitamins A, C, and K.

  • Artichokes

    • Artichokes contain antioxidant compounds like flavonoids, carotenoids, and vitamin C, which can help prevent the formation of fatty plaques in the blood.

  • Berries

    • Berries contain antioxidants like anthocyanins and resveratrol as well as vitamins A, C, and E. Strawberries contain anthocyanins that may help fight carcinogens, lower LDL cholesterol, and protect against cardiovascular diseases.

  • Beans

    • Beans are rich in flavonoids, which can help protect against heart disease and certain cancers.

  • Beets

    • The leaves and roots of beets contain antioxidants that can help fight cell damage and reduce the risk of heart disease. Beets are also one of the few vegetables that contain betalains, a powerful antioxidant that gives beets their vibrant color.

Other foods that are high in antioxidants include:

  • Pecans

  • Red cabbage

  • Raspberries

  • Purple or red grapes

  • Kale

  • Orange veggies

Benefits of getting your daily serving of antioxidants:

  • They reduce oxidative stress

  • They support disease prevention

  • They support eye health

  • They aid in brain function

  • They can contribute to mental health improvements

  • They can reduce inflammation

  • They support healthy aging
