The Power of a Walk

THE POWER OF A WALK AFTER YOU EAT

Did you know that a walk after you eat helps keep your blood sugar in check and aids in digestion?

Even just a 2 minute walk can make a difference. Taking a walk within 60-90 minutes of eating a meal can have the best benefit.

Walking ...

  • Lowers blood sugar

  • Lowers triglycerides

  • Reduces inflammation

  • Boosts blood flow to the brain

  • Reduces/prevents back pain

  • Strengthens bones and muscles

  • Strengthens your heart

  • Improves your mood

  • AND burns calories

As a nutrition coach I always recommend getting in an after meal walk whenever you get a chance!

THE POWER OF A MOVEMENT MINDSET FOR YOUR WEEK AHEAD

Every day, even the days you don't feel like working out, you can say to yourself (to your head, to your beating heart, to your brain, to your beautiful and not at all graceful body)...

TODAY... I GET TO WORKOUT.

How you speak to yourself about moving matters.

It's a gift to have a body that is able to move. Even if it's slow, out of shape, or different!

NONE OF THAT MATTERS.

It only matters what you believe you can do. It only matters that YOU have a choice to move.

It only matters what you decide to do with the opportunity to move.

And it is a gift!

So GO MOVE THAT beautiful body of yours. Your heart, brain, spirit will thank you.

Write this encouragement below on a post-it note and put it on your bathroom mirror, fridge, or front door so you see it A LOT and have a little reminder to help you shift your mindset when you know you need to MOVE.

  1. YES, YOU CAN.

  2. MAKE IT HAPPEN.

  3. I AM MY BEST INVESTMENT IN MY HEALTH.

You got this!  I am cheering you on from inside to out.

Speak good to yourself today.

Yours in Health,

Jenny
